Multi-PC Auction Software
10 May 2006
My husband and I sell on eBay and have been using Turbo Lister for the last couple of years.

We're very happy with the features, but we're finding that we need software that can be networked. Essentially, he writes up the auctions and I do all the proofing and correcting. The way TL is set up, this all has to be done from his machine. Also, TL wants the database in a specific location, so it's apparently impossible to write up the auctions on one machine, save that database to a shared drive and proof them from another machine.

Does anyone know of anything that can be used in this manner and is inexpensive?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Doxy, welcome to the site.

You get network support built-in mainly in the specialist consignment software, like AuctionWagon Store Manager G2 and Liberty 4 Trading Assistants, but these are not cheap, and probably overkill for your needs from what you have said.

I am not sure which of the inexpensive desktop packages either support this or have a workaround, but I would look into SpoonFeeder, MarketBlast, Auction Wizard 2000.

Another option is to go with an online service. I think the reason this question does not come up often is that a lot of people go with hosted services.

I would love to hear what you find out!

Andy,

I appreciate you getting back with me.

Unfortunately, it looks like the annual prices are more than we want to pay consider the income we generate.

If we happen to stumble across one that will do what we need at a less expensive price, I'll post in and let you know.

Thanks again!

That's fair enough, but perhaps you missed some of the info because some of the products are really low cost.

For example, MarketBlast is $99 one-off, and you don't have to subscribe to SpoonFeeder's monthly service levels.

Auction Wizard 2000 does have a $50 annual fee after the $75 initially.

How can I get multiple workstations for AuctionWagon? Do I have to purchase that capability?

ah no, multiple workstations are free.. It models a "production line" type format, where employees have a workstation and can do simple tasks and pas it on down the line.

When I first came into the company we put up 200+ new auctions in just a few hours..
