Could use some advice
6 Aug 2015
Currently using an older version of CS cart for our web store. We have outgrown it and looking to upgrade to a hosted solution like bigC or Volusion. We do allot of drop shipping mixed with some inventory. We are in the process of adding 2 or 3 more drop shipping vendors which will put us over 60K different skus. With this update were looking to push those new sku's to amazon and Ebay. I have been trying to do some research on Seller Acticve, GoDataFeed, and Solid Commerce,

So what I'm looking to do if possible, is have a one central management software that can list on multiple platforms, and able to keep track of inventory from multiple drop ship accounts.

I do appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Hello, welcome to the community!

I wouldn't go with Volusion, they're not a good system for that amount of sku's, their importing system for images is going to give you a headache =)

BigC is a better option.

Do you need to be able to send Purchase orders to your vendors automatically or semi-automatically?

Yes I would need something developed to allow orders to be submitted to our shipper, I would need something that has the ability to be updated every 10 minutes to check the correct inventory levels.

It sounds like you will need a custom interface to do what you want. I am not aware of any solution that will do what you are talking about doing. I have had to build (or hire people to build) similar functionality for my websites. I cannot recommend Volusion at this point. They do have a powerful API, but there system has some flaws. One of the biggest is that you have to change your password every 3 months. Not a problem except that it causes your API credentials to be changed too. So you must remember to go and update your API key everytime the password changes.

I also noticed tonight that they are charging me $102 per month for a plan, which I think is high, but the published pricing shows $75 per month. Ticket entered for billing department for an explanation.

I'm currently looking at different website solutions. I was going to switch to X-Cart but they have some issues. If they cannot be resolved, I will be moving again.

You can also look into Magento w/M2EPro that acts as both your web site and listing tool to amazon and eBay, with a combination of one of the software's below to run your inventory, purchase orders and orders processing.

Skubana
Solid Commerce (which you already mentioned, also does listing)
HubLogix (formerly ecommub)

I would check them out and speak to one of their solution specialists and see which one works best for your business needs.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes, eager to know which company you went with and why.
