It's an interesting question for marketplace sellers because your ability to build direct relationships with customers is very limited.

Normal CRM and email marketing tools are of limited use to most sellers, but there are specific tools for marketplace sellers such as feedback managers and customer support tools which are very popular.

Customer Relationship Management or CRM is a strategy, process and technology that lets your company make the most of every sale by optimizing revenue and getting a better understanding of the customer's needs.

CRM works by collecting leads or consumer information, analyzing the collected information to understand customer or market requirements and adjusting marketing campaigns accordingly to increase sales.

CRM also serves customer service and support divisions-making businesses efficient and improving customer satisfaction.

In any business, the bottom-line of CRM work flow is to (1) Initiate Marketing, (2) Process Sales, (3) Schedule Orders and (4) Provide Support .

The ability of marketplace sellers to collect consumer information is very limited. Even though they get the customer's name and address (and email address in some cases) for shipping purposes they are to a large extent prohibited from making use of it by the marketplaces' terms and conditions.

Can marketplace sellers use "traditional" CRM at all?
