Dropship aggregator Shopster has simplified their pricing to only two packages.
The free plan offers a small store with no monthly subscription and a 5% transaction fee, while the PowerMerchant plan offers a much larger store with greater customization for $69.95 per month with a 1% transaction fee.
Dropshipping company Shopster has released a new hosted eCommerce solution, called Shopster PowerMerchant.
PowerMerchant combines an onine storefront with Shopster's network of merchants. The storefronts are fully customizable, search engine friendly, and provide access to over one million products which can be sold alongside a retailers' own products.
Sarath Samarasekera, Shopster CEO and co-founder, said "PowerMerchant is more than just the start of an e-Commerce revolution, it changes the way we think about buying and selling everywhere. PowerMerchant has a 14-day free trial, then costs $69.95 per month plus a 1.5% transaction fee.
International product sourcing site Alibaba.com has launched two new initiatives: the "Quality Supplier Program" and the "Gold Supplier Starter Pack".
The Quality Supplier Program will deliver an improved sourcing experience to international buyers through enhanced quality and reliability of suppliers in the Alibaba.com marketplace.
The Gold Supplier Starter Pack is a new entry-level product that will extend Alibaba.com's premium storefront service to a broader group of export suppliers in core customer markets in mainland China, as well as new markets such as Hong Kong and Taiwan.
"While the global financial crisis will bring challenges to the real economy, we view the current environment as the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to quality and accessible service for our buyer and supplier community," said David Wei, chief executive officer of Alibaba.com. "All of the initiatives we announced today are aimed at expanding our market leadership and accelerating user growth and customer acquisition. Our Quality Supplier Program will allow buyers to trade with greater confidence while the Gold Supplier Starter Pack will appeal to a wide range of potential new customers."
Liquidity Services, the parent company of wholesale marketplace Liquidation.com, has won the contract to resell US Department of Defence surplus stock.
Final award of the contract is subject to administrative requirements and potentially a protest process from other bidders.
Liquidity Services works with organisations to sell surplus assets using online auction marketplaces, such as Liquidation.com.
Product sourcing site Shopster has a new dropship product sourcing package called "Shopster Product Source".
The new service offers access to over one million products and tools to list directly to eBay from Shopster.

Marketplace for Chinese goods Alibaba.com has announced significant growth in revenue and profit in 2007.
Total revenue increased by 59%, gross profit increased by 67%, and operating profit increased by nearly 200%.
Alibaba.com now has 27.6 million registered users, an increase of 40% over the past year.
Liquidity Services, Inc., the company behind surplus stock marketplace Liquidation.com, is to acquire GovDeals, Inc for approximately $10 million in cash.
GovDeals.com is an online auction marketplace for the sale of surplus and confiscated items for local and state government entities including city, county and state agencies as well as school boards and public utilities. GovDeals.com has 1,400 sellers and thousands of buyers.
Sellers who sign up with dropshipping company Shopster between now and December 31 will get three free months of free service.
Simply sign up for a new Shopster monthly account and after the 7 day trial pay the one-time start-up fee of $99. The first three months (normally $89.95 in total) will be free.
Dropshipping aggregator Doba has launched Doba Pro, an advanced product sourcing solution for small to medium size retailers.
Doba Pro includes several enhancements to Doba's standard offering, including a new bulk order upload tool, custom data export feeds, additional product filtering, the ability to save and name search parameters, and enhanced site navigation for high volume sellers. Also, in addition to the 75 core wholesale distributors that all Doba members have access to, Doba Pro retailers have access to an exclusive group of 100 additional specialty suppliers and manufacturers.
"Doba Pro continues our quest of simplifying supply chain management for small to medium size retailers." said Blaine Nielsen, CEO, Doba. "By allowing Pro level retailers to upload orders in bulk, we free up their time and resources for more important things, such as attracting new customers, serving the ones they already have, and executing on other bottom line business-related goals."
Manufacturer directory Global Sources has added a free supplier credit checking service.
The service, called Credit Check and developed with partner Verify Limited, provides buyers with online credit reports on Greater China suppliers. Credit Check provides data on up to 13 different legal and financial business areas, including corporate status, shareholders, licenses and permits.
Companies listed on Global Sources that have opted to participate in the program will carry a 'Credit Check' logo to show their information has been verified. Buyers can click the logo to access detailed credit information.
More extensive reports are planned for later in the year, and will include credit ratings, litigation, banking relationships and risk analysis metrics. Buyers will be able to purchase these additional reports online to check any Global Sources supplier.
Manufacturer directory Alibaba.com has added new features to make product sourcing easier.
Supplier profiles have been expanded, there are more products (550,000 new listings were posted in just 30 days), and new information such as contacts and forum posts can be accessed from the account page. The new Buyer Directory lists products buyers are looking for and invites offers from suppliers.
The latest version of dropshipping solution Shopster has a new tool to list products on eBay.
The new Listing Manager for eBay allows users to manage auctions from their Shopster account, listing products on eBay with just a few mouse clicks.
A new HelpCenter consolidates all user support resources into a single page: community forums, help documentation, contact info, and Live Help. New features like Support Team blogs and Shopcasts are also available.
Drop-shipping directory Doba has enhanced its product search with new filters.
Specifically, retailers can now narrow down product sourcing searches by category, brand, price, and supplier, as well as other parameters like inventory status, wholesale price, product ID and SKU.

Alibaba.com will be the official trade media partner for two Kenfair trade shows in October, promoting the events to its online community of more than 20 million businesses in over 200 countries. Mega Show Part 1 is the largest Hong Kong trade show for gifts, housewares and toys and Mega Macao will be the first large scale international trade fair in Macao for gifts, premiums, home textiles and consumer electronics.
Drop shipper Doba has promised to extend its retail customers membership by two months if they find a drop ship wholesale supplier offering a lower price for an identical product, and services comparable to Doba’s drop ship wholesale suppliers.
Doba have also announced a "Push to Marketplace" tool which gives access to Doba's product catalog within ValueWeb’s WebStore powered by Affinity. The tool allows product information and images to be uploaded from Doba's product sourcing platform directly to a ValueWeb WebStore. Push to Marketplace can be added to an existing membership for $14.95 per month.
Product sourcing site Global Sources Direct has recently added Hardware & DIY and Power Tools & Accessories categories to its directory
Global Sources Direct allows buyers to order in lots as small as a single shipping carton direct from manufacturers in China.

Auction management solution provider Zoovy has released a new function called Just Easy Data Integration (JEDI) that aims to simplify the supply chain for online businesses. The system enables JEDI compliant suppliers to print a seller's logo on invoices and packing to be shipped directly to the consumer.
Other features include automatic inventory checking; loading shipping rate quotes from the supplier; and automatically transmitting orders to the JEDI supplier. Zoovy stores can act either as JEDI suppliers or sellers.
Auction management and marketplace research provider Mpire Corporation are working with product sourcing company Worldwide Brands to help eBay sellers find products to sell. As part of the deal, Mpire’s members will receive free access to Worldwide Brands’ Drop Ship Source Directory or Light Bulk Wholesale Directory, which include thousands of screened drop-shipping and bulk purchase warehouses.
