The only reason you need an auction sniper is for the hard to get item that you never can seem to get. Most items on ebay now days that are at auction go for opening bids. So with this said all you have to do is bid and you win. I have used an auction sniper and it is ezsniper. Works well when I have used it. To see my ebay store it is Primeonly27

I've had the same experiences with these guys as everyone else. Very poor support, and their site is a bit outdated.

At the beginning this was a decent service, but through the years they got worse and AuctionSniper either bid much earlier than scheduled, or not at all. Contacted customer service several times to see what the problem was, but they always had some lame excuse. I am loyal, but only to a point and especially for a "paid service". After trying another half dozen services with mixed results, I ended up with Gixen. It's worked very well, although I do not do a lot of sniping, it has not failed to perform as set.

I left Auction Sniper not long ago. They had their shot to make good.
I recommend you take a look at GavelThief.com. It's MUCH better.

Troubled sniping software Auction Sentry (owned by Auctiva) has been rewritten due to "major issues caused by a combination of time and continuous changes to eBay".

The update means that the standard edition of Auction Sentry will no longer be supported as the new version includes all the functionality of the former Deluxe edition.

Auctiva-owned sniping service Auction Sniper has launched an app for the Android mobile phone operating system.

The app can import the eBay watch list and create, edit and delete snipes. Notifications can be sent via e-mail and SMS.

Auctiva Corporation has launched a beta version of an e-commerce platform that will allow merchants to develop full-featured, independent Web stores.

Auctiva Commerce is in limited release as a test environment, allowing users to set up stores and conduct mock transactions to try out the extensive array of features—which, according to Auctiva Chief Executive Jeff Schlicht, "blow away the features offered through eBay Stores. It's like comparing a bicycle to a Ferrari."

Auctiva Commerce includes an online "wizard" tool that sellers can use to design their sites with features that include:

  • Customizable merchant dashboard
  • Unlimited categories, subcategories, products, pages and links
  • Inventory controls
  • Daily and monthly sales reports
  • Shopping cart
  • Shipping calculator
  • Customizable tax codes
  • Email marketing tools
  • Support for a wide variety of electronic and paper payment methods

Auctiva is inviting a select group of users to participate in the beta. These users are being contacted by e-mail.

The platform is expected to be widely available and able to conduct live transactions in January 2009.

Pricing has not been announced; however, it will likely include a monthly storefront fee. Auctiva may also collect a small sales fee for those transactions that were referred by Auctiva's marketing efforts.

Rumours abound that Auctiva, a company best known for the free auction management service of the same name, has acquired sniping software Auction Sentry.

Although there is no connection to Auctiva declared on the Auction Sentry website, Auction Sentry users have reported that their renewal payments go to Auctiva's PayPal account. Indeed, clicking the "Purchase" button on the Auction Sentry website leads to a PayPal page clearly stating "PayPal securely processes payments for Auctiva". The new Auction Sentry forum and reviews on this web site also claim that Auctiva has acquired the sniping tool.

Why would an auction management solutions provider acquire a sniping tool? There is no obvious answer to that. Auctiva has been in the eBay tools market for many years but came to new prominence since the launch of their free service. They acquired Sellathon - a company that logs and analyzes eBay auction visits - quietly in January 2007.

As an eBay Certified Solution Provider, running a sniping service could put Auctiva in a difficult position. Sniping tools cannot use eBay's official interface so must use "page-scraping" to access the site, which is technically prohibited by the eBay User Agreement but normally tolerated by eBay.

Free auction management and listing tool Auctiva has released a set of new features that include bulk campaign scheduling, pre-filled item information, customizable auto-emails and relisting capabilities.

Bulk campaign scheduling offers users the ability to schedule listings in bulk with staggered launch times. The addition of pre-filled item information allows users to add stock product information and photos that eBay provides for certain categories, such as music and DVDs.

"We listen to our users and work to give them the features they need to be successful in the eBay marketplace," says CEO, Jeff Schlicht. Auctiva Corporation has 8 years of experience in the eBay tools industry and has had a free service for two years, while still providing "classic" subscription tools such as Auctiva Poster and Auctiva eBud.

Auctiva Corporation, the company best known for its free auction management tool, has acquired auction traffic analysis company Sellathon, Inc.. No official press release has been issued but the acquisition has been confirmed in the Sellathon forum.

Auctiva Corporation, currently enjoying renewed popularity following the launch of their free listing service, are working on expanding their existing site with a complete post-auction management solution. They plan to include a combined checkout, relisting, feedback services, customized email templates, and storefronts.

Web-based auction management service Auctiva has relaunched as a free site, with a one-page listing tool, unlimited image hosting, sales reports, and auction gallery Auctiva Showcase.

Auctiva's desktop tools (includes eBud, Mister Poster, and Auctiva Poster) and auction management services are available through classic.auctiva.com

Sellathon has released a technology that allows third-party software to integrate its visitor statistics solution ViewTracker, so sellers can view traffic details without visiting the Sellathon web site. Auctiva is the first developer to license the technology.

Sellathon has also announced that its counter solution will be the default for Overstock Auctions listings.

Hosted bidding tool Auction Sniper is running a competition through to February 14. Bidders buying Auction Sniper's shipping insurance will be able to snipe for free, and three randomly selected users will win back the purchase price of their item, up to $500.
