Amazon Toys category - still gated after holiday season
8 Jan 2019
I have been selling for on Amazon for about 2 months now. I have been gated in toys ever since I started due to the holiday season. From what I understood Amazon only restricts sellers from November 17th - January 5th. January 5th came and went and I am still gated in toys. What am I missing?

Hi,

It may be the brand you are selling, some manufacturers restrict the sellers. If so, you may be asked to submit an invoice. Or it may be the category you are selling in, i.e., infant toys category is restricted. Or you may need pre-approval and have to pay a fee.

Below is a link to a discussion on this topic on Amazon seller central.

Good luck.

New sellers in Toys are completely restricted, but the entire category now requires you to go through an approval process, and has since Spring/Summer 2018.

According to Amazon, go through the process of adding an item as you normally would. When you get to this screen, simply choose Request approval and go through the process.

If they ask you to submit any documents do NOT submit retail receipts.
