Calculation of minimum price
26 Dec 2017
Dear Colleagues,

we are a bookseller based in Germany selling on Amazon Europe and US. We use a repricing tool (logicsale at the moment). So far lots of our minimum prices are determined by rules of thumb. Any recommendations for a calculation tool which is able to handle thousands of articles?
Thank you in advance.

All the best

We use Access to calculate the floor price but I would imagine that you can use any relational database

And of course you will need to enter the data first!

I calculate my Amazon floor price using

(Total Fixed Costs + Min Profit)/(1-(Total Variable Costs))

Fixed costs for that item may include:
Cost price of item
Shipping for that item
Packaging for that item
Amazon closing fee
There could also be other fixed costs like a supplier's delivery cost to you, or software that charges per item for example

Variable costs may include:
Amazon referral fee
Software (for example one that charges a percentage of turnover)

This is why I use a database as it can look up all of the different values required and calculate my various floor/ceiling prices for different marketplaces
