Etsy SEO and market research tool Marmalead has a new traffic-lights style indicator to help sellers research and compare keywords.

The "Marma-Meter" uses color to show engagement, competition, and category page for each keyword.

Engagement is how much shoppers are interacting with listings. Competition measures how many listings are trying to rank for the keyword. The category page is a special page that is shown when shoppers search for a broad keyword. An ideal combination is high engagement, low competition and no category page.

The Marma-Meter ratings are driven by Etsy data and scale to the size of the market for the specific keyword being researched.
