OnBuy is a UK-owned marketplace with millions of buyers and over 12 million products. OnBuy has a catalogue-driven system, with delivery to over 50 countries, a UK-based support team and personal account managers for sellers. Sales proceeds are released via PayPal upon item dispatch.


Fruugo is a listing-driven marketplace, where each seller provides a full title, description and images for their products. However, listings are not branded and sellers are not named. Sellers have the option to list their products on all 23 of Fruugo's global sites and their software can automatically translate listings into 11 different languages. eBay is a global marketplace allowing businesses and consumers to sell virtually any new or used item by fixed price or auction. eBay has more than 167 million active buyers in 190 countries. eBay is a listing-driven marketplace where every seller creates their own unique product page, although eBay are starting to introduce a hybrid approach which combines this with catalog-driven features.


Amazon is a global marketplace, where sellers can offer products in over 20 categories. Amazon uses a catalog-driven approach, with just one listing for each product. Sellers simply connect to existing listings then add their price and quantity available. Sellers can choose whether to fulfill orders themselves or use Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA). This is where a seller ships stock to Amazon's Fulfillment Centers and they fulfill orders on the seller's behalf.

With a SELLER+ account, sellers can run up to five stores and import their existing listings from Amazon, eBay and Etsy. is a retailer and catalog-driven marketplace which aims to provide customers with big discounts. As they add more products to their cart, or take actions like waiving their right to free returns, their discount increases. Sellers wishing to sell on have to apply via their website. If accepted, sellers need to integrate with's API. This means they will either need to use a third-party inventory management system, or create their own.
