Liquidation at retail prices

What where the positives?

Not much

Any negatives?

Overvaluing lots

Summary

Bulq seems to think they can get retail price now for most of their lots. The thing is the Manufacturer warranty is null and void if you purchase from Bulq. So for people to keep buying these item at retail prices from them you need to take that into account. The warranty is worth at least 10-25% of the MSRP.

Horrible company

What where the positives?

None

Any negatives?

More than too many to list, but top ones they jack the retail up to sale to you knowing you will have to increase over or about retail, so no to little profit for the reseller. High freight shipping, you might pay more in shipping than the items are worth, and then find they are damaged or missing things. Not very good with manifests and sometime you are missing things from a box they took pictures of in there and on the manifest but they wont give you a refund or work things out with insurance if it was stolen. The market is flooded with the same goods they are reselling in places at what would be a loss for you, they sell on every online outlet and at fleamarkets in the south on top of a storefront in Tn cutting you out even more. They aren't quick about shipping despite the high shipping a week for a box and 2 or 3 to more for a pallet. I had one truck driver push the pallets off his truck because the dock I have uses plates to make the difference and bulq didnt care when I finally heard back. But you can buy with ease anytime is probably their only plus. But they buy from a liquidation company theirselves.

Summary

I can't tell someone what to do but if you do try them just look at the price it costs total and not their suggested retail, go look at real world prices for it resale. And know a lot of it is what they could not move fast their self.

Policies are not Customer Service driven

What where the positives?

The only positive was how easy it was to order and find merchandise.

Any negatives?

First, I received my boxes in good order no damage to the boxes. (I ordered two cases). I was waiting for photographic studio equipment so I waited a week or so to unpack, hang up the clothing. My initial go through found a ripped sweater. Once I started to photograph the items, I noticed missing top metal button closures on the jeans. It was two that had the riveted button missing. I also had a pair of jeans that were ripped. I contacted customer service and sent my manifest and photos of damage, explained my situation. Because I waited two weeks, they are not doing ANYTHING to help me. I ORDERED NEW MERCHANDISE WITH TAGS. I never expected any damage to the clothing.

Summary

Overall, I will find other ways to procure merchandise. This is unsatisfactory Customer Service. I didn't know the policy, because I ordered NEW merchandise. I have ordered new merchandise from other wholesalers and didn't have any damaged clothing. They are not looking to keep customers. STAY AWAY!

But review

What where the positives?

Samantha was the customer service agent I talked with. She messaged back very quickly.

Any negatives?

I have been looking at BULQ for a few weeks and they started a promotion that was buy 3 cases and get one of them shipped for free. So after reading reviews I decided to only buy cases that were new. I just went through the first one. One pair of shoes were 2 different shoes. They retail for $79.99 so I figured I could sell them for $50. The next pair of sandals had a broken strap. The one pair of shoes and an under armour shirt had returned with damage stickers on them. I contacted bulq and they refunded me $7. The case only had about 12 things in it to begin with and now 4 aren’t even able to be sold. I also just started the second box of NEW items and the pair of Levi’s have a huge hole in them and mud on the bottom. So clearly they were worn and returned.

Summary

I will not be ordering again.

Don't buy unsuspected returns from Bulq

What where the positives?

Fast $30 dollar shipping on cases, easy ordering process

Any negatives?

First 3 cases were ok but then it got progressively worst, nothing but junk! Packages missing products, excessively damaged product packaging, excessive clearance tags that are hard to remove, broken items, damaged items, very hard to make a profit on items in these type of conditions. Most of the items in these cases are yard sale material at best. True you are only paying 1 to 2 dollars per item, yes, because that's all they are worth! I agree with other reviews on here that Bulq takes the good Items they purchase from liquidations and sell the public the junk they don't want!

Summary

Don't go by YouTube videos of people unboxing one of these cases claiming you can make a profit on these Bulq unsuspected returns boxes, trust me, you won't, the items you receive will be that bad! 🙁

What where the positives?

Any negatives?

The worst company! Paid $700 (with shipping) for a pallet of mostly junk. Listed highest value items missing! At least half are so damaged/worn that even the neediest person won’t wear. When you complain, they give you the go-around until you give up! Save your money.

Nearly $100,000 Spent Through BULQ, Here Is Why We Stopped Sourcing With Them - An In-depth Review

What where the positives?

Itemized lots, as opposed to “mystery” lots

Any negatives?

Negatives listed on overall review

Summary

When we had first heard about BULQ, we thought it might be a great opportunity to source products for our business. Below is an in-depth review of the issues and misrepresentations we’ve encountered since we started sourcing through BULQ. 1. Retail Estimates Are Not As Advertised - The Retail Prices shown for items, cases, and pallets are not always as advertised, and in some instances as we’ve seen, blatantly marked out of proportion in order to encourage buyers to order the lot. We’ve noticed an iPhone 8 marked for $1400, Wired EarBuds marked as $999, and more price markups that don’t match their actual current retail value. 2. Claims - Across 47 Orders since 2019, we’ve needed to file a claim for 43 of those orders. A large amount of those claims had to do with the “most expensive” item in the lot. We had a circumstance where a Case was advertised to include a $2400 brand new 2020 MacBook Pro among other items. We found this to be a great deal considering the cost of the lot was slightly below that price. Instead, we received a used 2010 MacBook Pro with a faulty screen with an estimated resale value of about $100. Their refund calculations are based upon “an internal system” that calculate their wholesale value. The retail value listed for an item will not be an indicator as to how much you’ll receive as a refund for your claim. 3. Jewelry - From our experiences with BULQ, all jewelry comes unmarked, unbranded, and with no tags or signs of authenticity. We only specialize in electronics, so for jewelry items included in the lots we have bought, we found it applicable to take it to our local pawn shop. For an item marked as a $450 retail value, we were told that the jewelry was “costume jewelry” and virtually worthless. 4. “Price Drops” - We’ve noticed a new tactic that BULQ has employed which is greatly misrepresenting their “price drops”. You’ll see a lot that is listed as a 30% price drop with a price of $4000, and a retail value of $4500. That would mean the original price is above the retail price. Apparently this tactic is used so that buyers believe they’re getting a great deal because the price has “dropped” by 30%. 5. Overall Fundamental Values - Given all of the deceptive practices and misrepresentation from BULQ, it is disheartening that a company would look to “prey” on small businesses as a source of income. While we understand the customer service staff does not have direct information into the operational tactics of the business, we have had conversation with a few customer service representatives from BULQ that agree that some of BULQ’s practices “do not look right”. We understand what it takes to build from a small company to a million dollar business. There are no short cuts or deceptive tactics you can take to cheat your way there. Honesty and trustworthiness is more valuable to us than money. We hope that BULQ will understand this fundamental value in the future.

Ruining a great business model

What where the positives?

Relatively cheap shipping compared to the industry as a whole.

Any negatives?

They clearly pick through their loads and remove all the good stuff before putting anything up for sale. I've been doing liquidations of all sorts for years. Shelf pulls, returns, government liquidations, surpluss, etc... It's a pretty solid business if you're sourcing from the right people. That being said, Bulq is the worst liquidation experience I've ever had. Not only were the boxes I received over priced, b (I was willing to pay a little more than normal to give it a try), but the items were complete garbage. I had to sell everything "as is" and ended up losing about $15 bucks off my $300 investment. Not the end of the world, but lesson learned. If you want to make some cash in this business, go big or go local and pick it up yourself. Proxibid and Bstock solutions are fantastic sources, even liquidation.com is a little better than Bulq. If you had a bad experience with these guys, don't give up on the business, there are way better options out there.

What where the positives?

Affordable and arrived quickly

Any negatives?

Some of the items they sent were not authentic. Instead of trying to fix the situation, they denied it and that is sad because it will keep happening.

Summary

I found the site to be affordable and it was easy to shop however, customer service and issues resolution is not their best quality. Instead of dealing with the issue, they denied it. Buyer beware - make sure the items you receive are authentic before you resale there are a lot of counterfeits.

I only order New

What where the positives?

Brand new cases.

Any negatives?

Sometimes poor packaging

Summary

You get brand new items. I have bought 3 cases and a pallet from them. I have definitely made my money back and made a decent profit from them. The thing you have to realize is that you aren’t going to get rich in this industry. Their will be good items and items that you have to sit on. The thing about doing this kind of business is that you have to have more than one way of getting rid of it. I sell on EBay and Amazon and also at my garage sale. We learned awhile back when we owned a thrift store that items will sit on your shelves. I heard once from a very successful online seller and he stated that if you can’t let the item sit and get full price for it then you probably don’t have the money for this type of business. So just stop while your ahead and go back to your 9-5 job. It’s not a sprint but a marathon. Now that hit hard for me and that’s when I changed my philosophy of the way I sold online.

TERRIBLE

What where the positives?

NONE.

Any negatives?

I had a terrible experience with BULQ. It was my first time ordering. I ordered an "uninspected box". I knew that by ordering this, it meant that some of the items might not be in the best shape, etc. When I received my box, I noticed that two main things that I REALLY wanted from the box were not there. The boxes for the items were there, but the physical items were taken out. These items were an expensive razor and tweezer. If I knew those items weren't going to be in the box, I would not have paid so much for the box + $30 shipping! Also, basically everything in the box was spilling out or ruined. Not to mention, I spoke to customer service about this. They were very rude to me and basically told me there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but they wouldn't let me. My first experience was not good at all! I would not recommend!

You can some money, but its hard.

What where the positives?

Fast shipping, decent $30 s/h cost for a case. They messed up 2 orders and refunded me some money without a big hassle.

Any negatives?

1:NEVER BUY RETURNS OR SALVAGE. It's 99% junk, and basically you will throw it away, or sell 50% of it as a lot for huge loss. Ive bought 4 uninspected returns cases, never again. I made my money on 2 but it was a gamble (barely made any $$) the other 2 will be losses. 2: Over priced MSRP, for the last 5 months (11/19-5/20) they have had several auctions with mens or boys fur russian bomber hat. The fur is fake, but they value it at $399 each, and add 2-3 per lot. These are $20 in every target nationwide, So the value is wrong. Thats just one example, clothes that say $19.99 and when you receive it says $8.99msrp AND has 5 clearance stickers marked down to $2.49 (that are hard to remove and damage the packaging). They put WAY too many stickers on stuff. 3: Since corona virus, prices have increased. Ive been a used for months and ive noticed my niche area get 50% increase in price. Ive bought in the past several cases for $250-350 and those same cases (i know they cant be identical but trust me i know its close) are now 400-600, and the only ones around $200 are uninspected returns WHICH ARE JUNK. 4: Their auctions arent auctions. You can simply pay $20-50 more than the bid to buy it now. So when you see something starr in auction at 189.99 with a buy it now at 225.00 when you bid 190 someone will just buy it now. Its not an auction, thats a lie and false. 5: A lot that says msrp $3,348 will contain 300 itmes. 200 will be of low quality checkout style junk from the last holiday (so in may you will get easter and st patricks day junk, and so on) thats grossly overpriced (green at patty days trucker hat for$10, target sold for $1 the week after) and those 200 items will be a loss unless you live near people who buy halloween socks at xmas, or easter stuff for july 4th. I get it they sell overstock, but its grossly inflated, and that $3,348 lot will sell for $500-800. Someone will take a bath on that garbage. In closing, if bulq was more honest with prices, msrp prices, and had REAL AUCTIONS, id rate better. But they seem to just want to unload cheap impulse items at full retail to unsuspecting resellers. Be aware you wont make a fortune, hell if you break even with 6 months you're lucky. You wont find a lot that will double of triple your money, its not there.

Summary

Be very careful, eating $400 might be better than having a big box full of junk to throw out on garbage day.

What where the positives?

Site is very user friendly and shipping was fast.

Any negatives?

Un inspected returns box was mostly trash, a huge loss. Would not recommend.

Summary

I received a box of un inspected returns today. The shipping was fast, but the box was a complete disappointment. Many of the items had missing components making them impossible to sell or use. I understand that I was taking a risk buying this particular category but the items should have been classified as salvage. Bulq is very deceptive with this category and big ticket items will likely be missing vital components. This was my first purchase and I probably will not buy again.

Uninspected Returns Don't Do It

What where the positives?

Easy website and very fast shipping

Any negatives?

Don't purchase uninspected Returns. 90% of times are salvage and pure trash. They know it too. Seriously who puts a stack of white paper in a bin taped up? They know that's trash. Or two boxes of strength bands clearly ripped open missing the red band in it saying on the manifest it's a $19.99 item. They know it's trash and I can't sell or use it. You haul away their trash. Buy New only.

Summary

They know what they are doing. They jack up the MSRP on the manifest knowing the product is pure trash. Throw in a couple clean items and the rest salvage to get people to buy. I bought once and won't do that again. I'll try NEW maybe.
