    What were the positives?

    I can print stamps at my desk. I don't have to go to the PO. If I have a problem the people I contact are courteous and friendly and never fail to please. I wish all companies were like you.

    Easy to use! Easier and faster than USPS.com.
    Great discounts
    Refunds and insurance claims are quick and easy to process
    Ship history from the beginning of time is great! I use it doing my taxes. Have quit printing receipts because ship history is so easy to use.
    Being able to create labels ahead and store until needed in Orders is BRILLIANT. I can make labels and leave them for someone else who is less familiar with the site to print.

    Any negatives?

    Can't get a price without complete address. I would like to be able to put in zip code and weight and dimensions and get a ship quote.
    Tracking information is often WRONG (not just slow to load but wrong)
    Orders tab is SLOW.
    Can't always find old customers when I type their name in the address field; inconsistent.

    I really like Stamps.com. Wish scale wasn't so chintzy and multiple labels could print at one time.

    What were the positives?

    It's SO easy to re-up our account balance, I love how stamps.com corrects addresses and adds the four-digit extension to zip codes. And getting refunds is a breeze.

    Any negatives?

    I know stamps would prefer customers use the website for all answers, but sometimes that's not enough. A little more phone-available customer service support might be nice. Plus the scale that comes from stamps is not very good for weighing anything more than a few ounces. Matter of fact, I keep my old Pitney-Bowes stamp machine just to use its scale! Finally, it's a drag that one can only print only one label at a time. When I have a mass-mailing, I'd like to be able to enter ALL recipients and have my printer print the labels one after the other, rather than one at a time.

    Overall

    Stamps is far and away better than Pitney-Bowes or having to go to the post office.

    What were the positives?

    Convenience for 'odd' mailings--I can print one stamp for a 6 oz mailing, I don't have to estimate and hope I'm right. I can take care of larger weight mailings without having to go to a post office.

    Any negatives?

    Less economical if I need to do a large mailing, and print individual stamps since you have to buy the stamp paperwork, but that's not a common issue.

    Overall

    Much easier to use, and more economical than what I used to have, with the $35 red ink cartridge needed.

    I'm looking at switching to another postage processor.

    What were the positives?

    It has the features I need, i.e. the ability to set up postage for various situations. Plus, it keeps my contacts so I can easily access them for re-sales.

    Any negatives?

    Definitely. I work on an iMac running system High Sierra 10.13.6. I use the Stamps Connect app to access the online postage. This is incredibly buggy. Even after I got excellent help from one person at Stamps.com (Steven on Nov 18), I still have problems accessing the software connected to my scale. I repeatedly get error messages telling me to connect using connect.com AND THAT'S HOW I DID CONNECT! Steven explained to me how to exit Stamps.com and login again to have only one connection working. That helps most times, but I also still get error messages. I notice that my Safari browser always shows two windows for Stamp.com, and sometimes one window is a "Run Error" window with lots of red text. No idea what that's all about, but it can't be good.

    Overall

    Bottom line ... if it takes me half and hour to an hour each day to get the connection and the scale working correctly, then that's too long and too much hassle. I have to shut down my computer most days, restart and wait for everything to load again before trying to connect. It's painful.

    What were the positives?

    In-home or on-site computer based shipping. Significant discount compared to posting packages at the Post Office. Date entry is simple. The scale that was sent works perfectly, saving time. Support is patient and knowledgeable.

    Any negatives?

    There are idiosyncrasies that you will run into. The only way to transfer data from one computer to another is to export it on a flash drive. I would recommend a web-based Stamps.com plan if you have more than one site that share customer data. The search bar in HELP is all but worthless. Many times I tried searching help to no avail, causing me to call Stamps.com tech support. Fortunately, they are experienced and actually can help.

    Overall

    Worth the effort to buy and use over the long term. Costs less. Not much time added to the work flow. Compared to other shipping sites, this is the simplest.

    The "scan form" feature is unwieldy. The major problem (and this may be a USPS problem rather that a Stamps.com issue) is that the system will only allow a scan sheet print on the day we print the shipping, even though we may not actually ship until the following day or, in case of a weekend, on Monday or Tuesday. We constantly see the message "one or more of the items have different shipping dates". There are, therefore times when the packages are not booked in at the post office and the system makes it appear as though they were "printed" but not received for mailing.
    Also, the system does not accept email addresses for recipients on international mailings. The email box blanks out and will not accept the entry.

    not yet. Please never implement the new version of the search history page. It would make it worse. The old one is perfect to see what is going on with one quick look.

    The website can be glitchy and really slow to load. And its not my internet speed. And the website needs a do-over and updating with better visuals.

    Support is good once you actually get to a person. You waste time and business productivity when you have to be in line for a real person to manage a problem.

    Daily Bugs and Technical Issues

    What were the positives?

    When it works, it's fairly straightforward and easy to use.

    Any negatives?

    We have technical issues with Stamps.com on a daily basis.

    Typically, the "Stamps.com Connect" feature, which connects the printer to Stamps.com, fails to operate correctly.

    Frequently, Stamps.com will change mailing addresses to what are obviously incorrect addresses in incorrect formats.

    Our computer in our mail room has been out of commission for about nine months due to Stamps.com being unable to diagnose and repair a known problem with their software.

    Overall

    Management at Stamps.com has been fairly nice, but, overall, they have been unable to mitigate the numerous technical issues that come up. We are repeatedly told that our issue is being elevated to a 'Tier 1' technical team (or something like that), but we never receive a resolution. Poor follow-up.

    What were the positives?

    Stamps.com is quick, easy, and intuitive. The software for Windows is easy to use and well designed. If you don’t like the modern interface you can request the older binary as well from customer service; though it has minimal support.
    The web interface allows you to print stamps from your account, including shipping forms, wherever you are.

    Any negatives?

    No MacOS software. The only offering for Mac, Linux, and Unix users is a system level “hook” that allows stamps’ web interface to interact with software on your computer.
    No Mobil platform. In this era where most current printers allow non-wired printings, and just about every mobile device has some sort of wireless communication, from your phone to your watch to your car and even your coffee pot... is it that difficult to get some sort of mobile solution in place? When even the street vender in the middle of the road has an app?!?

    Overall

    Software, hardware, and usage support is quick, and helpful.
    More generalised questions take longer to get a reply. Unfortunately like many companies Stamps has moved to social media for support. This cuts out a number of options for non SM users. And getting email support appears to be less a priority for them than it used to be.

    Several things need changed.
    1. Your data base is terrible. When exporting the names are grouped together (exp: first, last name) When inputted you put in separate boxes then why when I export is it together?
    2. Insurance is terrible. Why is it that we have to pay twice for damaged items? When I pay for shipping once I should get it back on insurance because I have to reship an item. I can not charge the customer that shipping so I at least should get it back.

    Overall

    Ok at time. There is no 2nd tier support when the first call can not be answered.

    Overall service is fair to good.

    Updates never go well with them

    What were the positives?

    While it does allow for discounted pricing on many of the USPS services I'm not sure it is worst all the trouble I have with it on an on going basis. Updates never go well and you do not know ahead of time when they are going to mess things up.

    Any negatives?

    Stop trying to fix what is not broken maybe!!!

    Normally support is very knowledgeable, but still I have to spend considerable time on the phone to get things fixed. This last young lady knew little to nothing and could not fix anything that was wrong. She suddenly hung up part way thru the call and then disconnected from the remote session.

    The support was fantastic. Always helpful & easy to understand.

    I've used stamps.com for MORE THAN 10 years. Love them. They put the post office AND their competition out of business! We do almost everything we need directly with our online postage account.

    What were the positives?

    Any time that I had a question or a problem I could submit it or get in touch with them and it seemed they jumped on it immediately. The problems wound up being minor software glitches/my head space and resolved quickly.

    Any negatives?

    For my business usage of returning Customer work after I have finished with it - nothing better.

    Overall

    Their support to me seemed to almost be instantaneous, which I know it wasn't. But it sure seemed that way. Never had any kind of lengthy delay(s) or downtime.

    Stamps.com has been a super easy way to ship products for our business. We ship domestic & International and have had no major issues with Stamps.com. In fact, they have saved us money on our Express & Priority packages 😀

    Any negatives?

    I'd like to see a feature that would allow us to keep the same customs info as we do many international orders that are the same items, weight, cost, etc. This would save us time so we don't have to keep repeating the same info over & over
